Easy Pumpkin Cake

I'm on my pumpkin kick now so here's a Pumpkin Cake recipe for everyone.

Easy Pumpkin Cake

1 12oz can of pumpkin puree (Libby's)
1 box of white cake mix
3 large eggs
1-1/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil or any oil you want to use
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Extra sugar if you think it needs it
I added only a tsp of sugar just in case

Preheat oven to 350. Mix the cake mix with the water, oil, eggs, salt, sugar and spices till smooth, then add the canned pumpkin, fold together till it's mixed well. Bake it in the oven till it's a golden brown or till a toothpick comes out clean. Icing with cream cheese icing, yummy! It turns out very moist and like pumpkin pie in cake form! Sorry about not having a bake time but I kinda winged it on that and it turned out great anyway.

Swag from Dollar Tree & Walgreens

Ghoulish Greetings!

Just a few for now but I'll have more a bit later on. First up is the Dollar Tree which has a lot of nice stuff this year.

Several styles of Gargoyles and Headstones. The Gargoyles are rather heavy so they are probably made of a concrete but don't quote me on that. They also have some snowglobes, skulls, candle holders, skeletons, hands and more.

Now onto Walgreen's items. I'm going to go poor when I go there again soon. A lot of 2 for $1 items which I bought a few of. The tiny scenes are some of those and the paper skeleton, couldn't pass that up since I kinda collect those guys lol.

More to come soon!

Pumpkins

One of the many things that make people think about Halloween and that's PUMPKINS! Those orange or white gourds put some into that Halloween mood. Now this year I decided to be adventurous and grow my own, so towards the start of spring I bought some seeds from a local store, planted them in buckets till they were bigger to put in the ground. I also bought some pumpkin plants from a nursery which didn't do very well I might add. Start them from seeds if you can because mine grew and grew like mad. I ended up doing an experiment with one plant to see if what I heard/read worked. I guessed on the amounts since I forget the website where I saw it at. Milk and sugar mixture, cut a small slit in the stem, don't cut too deep, insert a wick into the slit, in my case I used a rolled out cotton ball. Lead the other half of the wick into a bowl with your milk/sugar mix in it. Now I'll give my results on my milk feed pumpkin so far, it's done great! It's grown faster and it was the first to put out fruit, which now is pretty big. The others are doing fine, have fruit on them too but the ones I got from the nursery have died or aren't putting anything out. My plants also got plagued by powdery mildew which is a common occurrence in the warm summer months because of heat and humidity. So I battled it with a mixture of Murphy's Oil Soap, Baking Soda and water, mixed in a gallon jug then put into a spray bottle for easy use. It took care of the problem pretty quickly I might add, I spray it everyonce in a while to keep it at bay. I'll post the measurements up a bit later today. Now onto the photos of the pumpkins!

Bit of help here?

Need a better countdown thingy, this one and a few others I've tried aren't, how do I say it without sounding mean..they aren't what I'm looking for really. They either don't center right or they're off on the time. So if anyone knows where I can get a better one, point me in the right direction please :)

Edit: Found one but still looking for a better one that I can use my own graphics on.

Halloween already hitting the stores

I'm sure by now most people have noticed that Halloween items are already on the shelves at some stores like Dollar Tree, CVS, Marc's and so forth. So if you want your Halloween fix, I'd say grab them now! I'll make a post later of items I've found so far within stores now.
